Addressing Food Insecurity

Food insecurity is an unfortunately common issue experienced by many Australians, where individuals or households lack consistent access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food necessary for an active and healthy life.

This can be due to several reasons, including financial constraints, geographic limitations, and systemic inequalities, leading to :

  • Skipping meals or reducing portion sizes due to budget limitations.

  • Dependence on emergency food relief services such as food banks or charities.

  • Uncertainty about the source of the next meal.

  • Compromising on food quality and nutritional value to meet other essential expenses.
